Calvin is currently leading digital transformation and innovation by employing data science to new services across the customer journey at DWP. Before that he was leading the product commercialisation for emerging products in the Google’s innovation and solutions team in Europe. Calvin also mentored and coached young entrepreneurs as program manager at Google Campus London before he decided to take the plunge into the start-up world himself. He holds a master in web science and big data analytics from UCL as well as a bachelor in information systems.

Nick is an experienced IT Director having led the IT function at Rugby, London Borough of Sutton and Derby City, with 28 years of local government experience before recently moving to the NHS.

A 30 year public sector information specialist, having worked across the health, culture and communication sectors. While employed by the Cabinet Office Christopher worked with the newly formed Government Digital Service and their development and application of Cloud and Agile based services. He is currently working in the Scottish NHS transforming a disparate and complex information landscape into a single unified environment putting individual members of the NHS and social care workforce at the centre of wholly redesigned services. This involves defining and delivering the NHS Education for Scotland (NES) vision for a comprehensive digital transformation by implementing dynamic change through innovative and agile approaches to technical, cultural and organisational challenges by leading the design and in house build of Turas, the NES digital platform.
Digital Manager, Staffordshire Council
Ruth Woodbridge is Digital Manager at Staffordshire County Council and has overall responsibility for the delivery and maintenance of all external audience focused digital platforms and services. She has over 12 years’ experience in managing digital services and a BSc (Hons) in Multimedia Technology. Ruth is passionate about delivering digital change, and has worked on a range of projects such as CMS implementations, mobile web, major site rebuilds, digital process design and integration, Intranets, CRM systems and more.

Prasad Bangalore is IT Director at British Business Bank plc. Chief Information Officer, Devon Partnership NHS Trust
Nick Hopkinson is the Chief Information Officer of Devon Partnership NHS Trust, a provider of mental health and learning disability services in South West England. He has worked for a number of NHS organisations in his 25 year career, including the NHS Information Authority (now NHS Digital) before joining Devon Partnership NHS Trust as an Associate Director in 2003. He is now CIO with responsibility for setting digital strategy and the delivery of all digital and information governance services.
Nick is passionate about the role that IT can play in the NHS and mental health services in particular to deliver better care. Although his own Trust has been working with entirely electronic records since 2010 he is part of a wider movement in the health community to build shared care records based around the individual citizen that span health and care organisations.
A member of BCS – the Chartered Institute for IT, Nick is also Deputy Chair of the Health Chief Information Officer’s Network and writes a column for the British Journal of Healthcare Computing.

Deputy Chief Executive, Director Customer Transformation, Wigan Council
Alison Mckenzie-Folan is Director – Deputy Chief Executive and part of the Senior Management Team at Wigan Council with strategic responsibility for a range of services including policy, strategy and transformation, revenues and benefits, customer services, ICT, public relations and HR and OD. Alison is currently leading the #digitalwigan strategy.
Previous to this role, Alison was Head of HR & OD for Wigan Council and also the Interim Director of HR and OD for NHS Ashton, Leigh and Wigan PCT. She joined local government in 2008, after a career in central government culminating in roles as Head of Finance and Deputy Director HR for the Health & Safety Executive.
She has extensive experience in business transformation and organisational development with a passion for modernising services to deliver tangible ‘business’ performance outcomes and value for money for residents and customers.

Service Head of ICT, Customer Access and Transformation at London Borough of Tower Hamlets
Sean has recently joined Tower Hamlets Council having worked for the last 12 years in interim management and consultancy assignments.
Sean spent most of his early career in Financial Services in ICT, Marketing, Strategy and Transformation roles. He made the move to the public sector 10 years ago working as a director or ICT for an outsourcing company delivering customer services technology and functions for Southwark Council and other public sector organisations.
He has worked in a number of London Councils including Islington, Westminster, Brent and Haringey. He has also worked for County and District councils where he worked on a number of shared services projects. In his most recent role at Haringey he was responsible for driving their Digital Strategy and associated Transformation Programme.
Sean is passionate about technology, customer service and change so believes he has found his ideal job at Tower Hamlets. He leads on Digital Strategy, Transformation and Smart Cities for Tower Hamlets Council.
He has experience working with other parts of the public sector having been a Non Executive Director on the board of a hospital (till 2013) and he is still an Academy School Governor, Independent director on the board of Housing Association and Independent director of London Grid for Learning (LGfL) the largest non-profit provider of ICT services to schools in the UK.
He is Chair of the London Branch for the Society of IT Managers (SOCITM), Vice Chair of the London CIO council and a member of the National CIO council.
Assistant Director: Digital Peterborough for Peterborough City Council
Richard Godfrey is the AD of Peterborough City council. As a part of his role, Richard drives the council’s ICT strategy designing a programme of work to complement the changing nature of local government delivery of services. His new ICT strategy based around cloud technologies has recently been approved by the council. The strategy underpins the wider transformation programme in delivery across the council. As well as leading on the Strategy for the council he also has a wider remit to enable and grow the digital sector across the city. Richard played a fundamental role in delivering a strategic partnership with CityFibre who are investing up to £30m into Peterborough delivering a pure fibre network. Previously he worked in Fleet Management for DHL (InsideTrack) working with Volvo. Prior to this he worked for Westminster City Council in the Contracts Performance Team.
Founder, Atern Agile Services
With a background in financial services, Chris has been a computer operator, programmer and analyst, moving into project management in 2000. An opportunity to move to a company using Agile from January 2008 proved irresistible and he never looked back. Chris is now a DSDM-accredited Advanced Practitioner, Trainer and Coach and a consultant since 2013. He now works as a freelance consultant, helping companies with team coaching, agile training and transformation initiatives.
Chief Digital Officer, Skills Funding Agency
The Skills Funding Agency (SFA) is responsible for giving colleges, training providers and employers the right funding to help people get the skills they need for employment. It is also home to the National Apprenticeship Service and the National Careers Service.
Tim is Chief Digital Officer (CDO) and CIO at the SFA, the largest delivery body, by technology spend, in the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. He is currently leading the Agency through a ground-breaking digital transformation programme; deploying the latest agile delivery approaches on cloud based technology to build digital services that flip the paradigm from policy driven to ‘user needs’ driven.
In addition to his role as CDO, Tim also lead the Agency’s project and change delivery activities to the very best practices of Government.

Dr. David Best is currently Director of Digital Services Technology and Methodology at ONS has been involved in the Digital world since 1992 when as a Partner in Deloitte Consulting he supported the start-up of the IMRG, now the UK’s leading member organisation in e-commerce.
Since then he has held a variety of senior management roles in the transformation of business using IT and digital technologies. He joined ONS after a spell as Senior Technical Adviser in the Government Digital Service and as Interim Head of Transformation, Digital Services at the Ministry of Justice

Sarah Wilkinson is Chief Technology Officer at The Home Office, with responsibility for the delivery of technology change and live services for all Directorates.
Prior to joining the Home Office, Sarah spent 23 years in Financial Services, and was CIO at Lehman Brothers, Deutsche Bank, UBS and Credit Suisse. In her most recent role at Credit Suisse she was also Head of Diversity for EMEA.
Sarah is also a Non-Executive Director of the Holmesdale Building Society, a Non-Executive Director of the Police ICT Company, and a board advisor to Technology Start-Ups within Telefonica’s WAYRA Portfolio.
Sarah read Mathematics at Imperial College, holds an MBA from London Business School and an FT Non-Executive Director Diploma, and is a CEDR-certified mediator.

He has an active role within transformation programmes, delivery of complex strategic and sometimes tactical solutions.
Leading the Project Management of West Yorkshire Police’s Digital Mobile Policing Initiative to “digitally enable” and transform the Front-line of Policing he has successfully delivered a major multi-million pound mobility initiative in record time, which has already deployed over 4300 officers and is staff enabled (making it the largest rolled-out force in the UK).
Also, responsible for Westminster’s ground breaking visionary Wireless City initiative – the world’s first initiative of its kind. Rajiv had been working with strategic partners (including Intel, Cisco, BT, Capgemini, and many others). Having project managed the development and delivery of all aspects to roll-out a secure wireless city network and supporting wireless enabled applications such as CCTV, noise monitoring, and mobile working; he has provided deep insight and new thinking into transformational opportunities for government service delivery and ‘digital enablement’ for modern cityscapes in the 21st Century.
Tony Singleton OBE
Director, Digital Marketplace Programme, Government Digital Service
Tony Singleton is responsible for transforming the way the Public Sector buys IT and digital services by creating an open and competitive market that gives access to quality suppliers through the Digital Marketplace (G-Cloud, Digital Services and Crown Hosting frameworks). His duties involve him delivering and iterating the Digital Marketplace to be a compliant and Digital by Default commissioning platform that both central government and the wider public sector can use to buy what they need. Tony regularly engages internationally and at the EU level on digital commissioning and opening markets. Tony began his civil service career working in the Ministry of Defence and held a number of different roles, including finance and budget management and procurement.
He was also Private Secretary to a senior military officer and led a small internal management consultancy team carrying out reviews into the operation and organisation of the MOD’s HR and recruitment processes. In 1997 he moved to the Cabinet Office and joined the Modernising Public Services Group. It was here that Tony became passionate about developing world-class, user-focussed public services for citizens. My main focus was to improve the way in which the public sector consulted citizens and business and how the results of research could improve public services. Tony joined the Office of the e-Envoy in March 2001 where he worked on the e-Government programme and the government’s target to e-enable public services by 2005. From there he was appointed as Directgov Programme Manager in 2004 and became the Chief Operating Officer in 2008. In 2011 he was invited to manage the business start-up of the Government Digital Service and did so successfully until June 2013 when he moved across to take over as G-Cloud Programme Director.
Today, Tony is the Director of the Digital Marketplace, the online platform that all public sector organisations can use to find and buy cloud-based services, specialists who can work on digital projects and physical datacentre space for high security or legacy systems.
Commercial Director for Technology, Crown Commercial Service
Sarah Hurrell is Commercial Director for Technology in the Crown Commercial Service, with responsibility for all IT & telecoms procurement and frameworks. She joined the Civil Service in November 2013, bringing 25 years’ private sector experience in IT, telecommunications and professional services.
A commercially-focused, international business director with a broad career in transformation, general management, staff development, complex programmes, services, operations, off- shoring, cost savings and emerging technologies, Sarah worked for ICL/Fujitsu (ten years), Equant/Orange Business Services (twelve years), and then as a Management Consultant in a SME (three years).
Recent achievements include managing the Public Services Network (PSN) programme transition and close out to Business As Usual, assisting BP to restructure Network & Hosting Services and driving over €100m of one-off cost saving and €70m+ of Gross Operating Margin Improvements (Orange).
Sarah has lived in Japan and Sri Lanka, and worked extensively in US and mainland Europe. She is married to John and they have two children – Joy (12) and Jed (9 years old).
Strategy, Programme and Information Manager at Warwickshire County Council
Ian Litton is the Strategy, Programme and Information Manager at Warwickshire County Council. He has fulfilled a number of different roles at WCC, from systems development through to strategy development. He was the WCC e-Government Project Manager from 2000 to 2006 with a remit to transform the delivery of services through digital channels. From 2010 to 2012 Ian worked on the award winning Connect Digitally Programme that transformed the delivery of Free School Meal services across the country. For the past two years he has been working closely with The Government Digital Service, the Open Identity Exchange and private sector partners to demonstrate how the Government’s identity management solution, Verify, can be used to underpin efficient, real-time exchange of data between organisations in order to deliver transformational on-line services in the public sector. This work has been documented in a series of white papers available on the OIX web site.
Dr Sally Howes OBE
Executive Leader: Digital and Innovation, National Audit Office
Sally joined the National Audit Office in 2010 to introduce new approaches and skills to auditing government IT, and establish more profile and influence for this work. She joined NAO’s leadership team as the Executive Leader, Digital and Innovation in 2013, continuing to oversee government’s progress in digital transformation as well as leading the NAO’s own digital, technology, knowledge management and skills development strategies.
During 2007 – 2010, as Director Commercial Services in the Ministry of Defence, she was involved in reviewing how well the MOD’s commercial function was meeting the challenges set in the 2005 Defence Industrial Strategy and addressing gaps in organisation, skills and policy.
She was Director General of the UK trade association for aerospace and defence from 2003-2007, representing 2,600 UK aerospace and defence companies with a turnover of £22 billion with Government in London, Washington, Brussels and Tokyo. During this period she modernised the trade association and restructured the Farnborough Air Show businesses to improve its financial health and deliver a stronger presence internationally for UK industry. She was responsible for the 2004 and 2006 Farnborough Air Shows.
Sally’s career began in Logica Space and Defence Systems, developing real time systems and working on international satellite programmes. After 5 years, she left to start-up a technology consultancy (SME) business with two colleagues, which undertook a mix of policy, strategy and business analysis as well as software and systems development for international clients in space, defence, broadcasting and communications sectors. She was awarded an OBE for services to the space industry in 2002.
Sally has a first class honours degree in geography from Cambridge University and a PhD in operational hydrological modelling for the US Army, Corps of Engineers.
