Queen Mary University has previously been attacked, Anonymous, the online hacking group claimed responsibility for the cyber-assault. Stealing personal data of students, they said that this was revenge for the university’s research sponsored by the Ministry of Defence.
This alleged breach of data protection rules is now the subject of an ongoing Information Commissioner’s investigation. Queen Mary says it has taken steps to ensure that any breach in security will not happen again, but this raises the question on whether universities can protect themselves from cyber-attacks?
Join us at Government Security & Risk Management 2015, 29th September at the Hotel Russell, London. Senior business and IT individuals from universities across the UK will be in attendance discussing how they have, or are looking to transform their network and data security to defend against attack. Contact our team to discuss how you can attend, sponsor or speak at this event.
