Dr David Stephenson

Big Data Evangelist

Dr. David Stephenson was previously Head of Global Business Analytics at eBay Classifieds Group, a group with analytics teams spread over six continents.  Prior to joining eBay, David held a professorship at the University of Pennsylvania, giving post-graduate lectures in applications of advanced analytics. David has also worked extensively in insurance, capital markets, and financial risk management and has served as an expert advisor to several large investment, consulting, and private equity firms. 

David left eBay in 2014 to found DSI Analytics, a company whose goal is help organisations make step changes in their use of data and analytics. In his current role, he has worked closely with executives at various regional and multinational organizations; organisation such as CoolBlue, at the time the most rapidly growing e-commerce player in the Benelux (and now a market leader). He is currently finishing up an extensive engagement with @Leisure, a rapidly expanding subsidiary of Axel Spring operating within the Travel and Tourism Sector, working together with the managing board to formulate and launch a greenfield analytics strategy and to hire and on-board a newly formed analytics team. David is from the USA and is currently based in Amsterdam.
